S.W.E.A.R is our master plan in the effort to Selamatkan Warisan Ekologi Alam Redang, with the slogan “Eco… Not Ego.” The master plan is divided into two main teams: the Conservation Team and the Preservation Team.
-
1) Coral Farming
Collecting Coral Broodstock Using the Coral Transplant Method – This method involves selecting healthy coral broodstock from a colony to be used as coral nubbins. Producing Coral Nubbins Through.
Coral Fragmentation – In this method, healthy coral broodstock is carefully cut into small fragments and placed on nursery tables for cultivation.
-
2) Monitoring Activity
Each coral nubbin production activity will be monitored and supervised by the Department of Fisheries (DOF) to ensure the success of this project. A project progress report must be submitted every three months to ensure that all subsequent activities meet the department’s requirements.
-
3) Awareness Program
The Awareness Program, in collaboration with key players in the tourism industry, is designed to create a deep and lasting impact on visitors. Every guest who sets foot in this fragile ecosystem must understand that their actions hold the power to protect or destroy.
To ensure this message resonates, we will distribute essential guidelines on responsible behavior to all industry stakeholders. At the heart of this initiative, on-site briefings and immersive awareness activities will give visitors a firsthand experience of the reef’s fragility—helping them realize that every step they take, every touch, and every choice carries real consequences.
Together, we can inspire change and safeguard the future of our reefs. 🌊💙
-
4) CSR Program
This initiative is not just important—it is essential to keep our project alive. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaborations with corporate partners are the backbone of our efforts, ensuring that every phase—especially monitoring and maintenance—can continue without interruption. Without this support, our dream of restoring the reefs will wither away.
To give everyone a chance to make a real difference, we have introduced Coral Adoption. This initiative allows visitors who truly care about our oceans to take action, directly contributing to the creation of more coral nubbins. Every donation breathes new life into the reefs, giving them a fighting chance to thrive once more.
As long as there are hearts willing to help and visitors setting foot on Redang Island, we will not give up. We are determined to sustain ourselves through these efforts, securing the resources needed to ensure this project doesn’t just survive—but thrives.Together, we can bring our reefs back to life. 🌊💙

5) Project Sustainability
If every team plays its part, staying true to the guiding principles laid out in our master plan, we believe this project will bring enduring sustainability—not just for the authorities, tourism industry, and local communities, but for every visitor who steps onto this island. Most importantly, it will safeguard the delicate balance of nature itself.
This project is not just feasible—it is a necessity. We are not in competition with anyone; we are fighting for survival—of the reefs, of marine life, of an entire ecosystem that depends on us. Every visitor to Redang Island has the power to be part of something bigger, drawn to an experience that is not just unique, but deeply meaningful. This is more than just an initiative—it is a movement. A promise to the ocean. A pledge to future generations. And with every coral we restore, we prove that hope is still alive. 💙🌊
