New adventures and experiences by enjoying the ecological beauty of nature while giving back to nature.
A micro-fragment is what we call a small section of coral that we have cut. They average about half an inch in size. We cut up a selected coral to a specific size for optimal growth, then it’s typically attached to a coral plug
It’s depend on the species, water quality, maintenance and monitoring, but we have been seeing growth rates of fragments 2cm to 4cm in as little as eight to twelve months.
We currently work with two main species of coral: Staghorn Coral, and Cauliflower Coral and in the future we will add some other species in our list
We have a number of outplant sites located on the Redang Island. You’ll be able to see these when you became one of our preservation team.
Coral adoption typically refers to a our program where individuals, organizations, or businesses can support coral reef conservation and preservation efforts by “adopting” a coral or a section of a coral reef (nursery table).
In a coral adoption program, donors may receive various benefits such as updates on the health and growth of the adopted coral, certificates of adoption, or even opportunities to participate in reef restoration activities like coral planting or monitoring expeditions.
The funds raised through coral adoption programs are often used for activities such as habitat restoration, community outreach and education, and marine conservation efforts aimed at preserving these vital ecosystems and the diverse marine life they support.
